A Gift

So today I ran by my new school to see what room I'm going to be in. I'm going to be doing intervention (working w/ kids who need a little extra help) so I'm not going to have a homeroom. I wanted to see the room to get an idea of what I needed to do in it.

A little background -- When Catie turned 3, she went to preschool through the school system for 1/2 a year. I knew the teacher (had taught with her and taught her son) and I knew the physical and occupational therapists she would be working with. I knew she was in good hands. So, for that time, she went to preschool at the school I'm going to be teaching at.

So... today I go to see my room... Would you believe that out of all the rooms in that school, I am in the room that Catie was in for 3 year old preschool??????? It took my breath away, but there is something strangely comforting about it. It is the only room in the whole county that I could have ended up in that she had spent time in... So, though I know there will be tears on the first day of school because I won't be walking her down to her kindergarten classroom... I'll be in the only room in the school she's spent time in... What are the odds of that?

Oh Jenny, I'm so, so sorry that you will not be walking Ms. Catie to kindergarten. It's gut wrenching for me to imagine, so I can't even begin to know what you are going through. But man, oh man what a "gift" you have been given having the ability to work in the class where Catie was a student. I'll be praying extra hard that the Lord grants you supernatural grace and peace as you start the new school year.

Yeah, God knew that. He and Catie made arrangements for that to happen. I guess it's just a way for you to feel a little closer to Catie Bug during the school year. Isn't God wonderful? He loves us beyond measure and I'm so glad we're His children.
Have a great week.

Things like this are the ways that God touches our lives directly and unarguably. It will never be fair that your sweet Catie won't be clinging to your hand and wondering about the new adventure of kindergarten in a couple of weeks. I am glad, though, that her spirit will be right with you as you sit in her very classroom, working with children who, like her, need a little extra help in some ways. You know I'm thinking of you often. I pray that your readjustment to working in the school system goes as smoothly as possible.

Life happens for a reason...

usually things come back to us for a reason and when I do something nice in my life I've found that it returns to me.. I don't expect it to but I appreciate it, when it does happen..
Glad you enjoyed the fall shot..

God is amazing huh? That truly is a gift.
Yes, I'm sure there will be some tears but you will be able to feel her there with you every day.
Love and hugs as you start your new school year. Hope you're feeling well and not too tired! Doesn't sound like things will be slowing down anytime soon so get some rest! :)
Love ya!

Hi Jenny! I have been thinking of you often since your last post. Truly God is with you and so is Catie Bug! I wanted to let you know that I will be thinking of you tomorrow as you start the school year off. I still wish you could be with us at EES, but after hearing about your special room, I know that God had a plan. Of course he had a special little helper with this little plan! I can imagine her on his lap helping plan this special treat for you. OH the smile that she must have had when she watched as you were walked to your new classroom. I bet she was jumping all around saying, "hurry, hurry.."
I hope you are feeling great and enjoying Catie and Izzy's little brother or sister rolling around in your belly. I will say an extra prayer for you as you head out tomorrow. I hear that Izzy is going to have a great babysitter and friends to play with.
I hope you have a great school year and a great first day tomorrow!
Much Love!
Tania

Just wanted you to know that I thought about you and Catie today as I set up my kindergarten classroom. Then I had a thought... are the elves only available at Christmas Time? I thought it would be cute to have them get into trouble throughout the year (in the classroom). Please let me know. I would like to purchase one if possible.

Congratulations on your upcoming addition. Sorry that I haven't been by lately to check on you, Izy and Tre. My life is a little hectic these days...working full time and taking care of my 6 month old. Good luck with your teaching job!
